SOUTHLAKE, Texas – July 28, 2011 – Travelocity's Travel Pricing Barometer has identified the next week (July 28 – August 3) as likely being the best time to find cheap flights for Labor Day weekend, based on historical data. The Barometer also identifies the destinations where travelers are most likely to find hotel deals over summer's last three-day weekend.

Travelocity analyzed four years of historical data to identify the best week to buy domestic airfare. Based on the data, the best time to buy has historically been five weeks before Labor Day weekend, which corresponds to the dates July 28 – August 3 in 2011. Come August 4, fares may start to rise. Historical data shows procrastinators could pay as much as 21 percent more for their flights.
