SOUTHLAKE, Texas – May 16, 2012 – According to Travelocity’s Summer Trusted Guide to Savings, which analyzes Travelocity booking data from May 18, 2012 to September 10, 2012, domestic airfare is up 3 percent and 5 percent internationally for summer, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a good deal.

Price to Beat and When to Book for Summer
The key to finding a good deal is knowing the price to beat and when to book. For summer travel, travelers should look to find flights under the average ticket price - $383 for domestic airfare and $880 for international airfare – and consider these the price to beat. Advance purchase is also up overall 2 percent from 2011. On average, domestic travelers are buying tickets 120 days before departure, and international travelers are buying 135 days in advance.
