Travelocity(R) and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) today announced a multi-year partnership in which the two organizations will jointly promote U.S. travel to the Pacific Asia region.
The promotion will function as the sustained online component of PATA's annual "See You in Pacific Asia" marketing program, which includes a Web site (www.seeyouinpacificasia.com ) and a 32-page print supplement distributed in USA Today, the Los Angeles Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Washington Times, Travel Weekly and National Geographic Traveler.
"Pacific Asia boasts a variety of powerful and vibrant destinations, and we are most enthusiastic about bringing these messages to American travel consumers in an online environment," said Peter de Jong, president and CEO of the Pacific Asia Travel Association. "Having Travelocity as the official online booking engine for our North American marketing efforts represents a significant step forward for our See You in Pacific Asia program."
The partnership includes several components, including: -- A booking engine, provided by Travelocity, on www.seeyouinpacificasia.com, enabling visitors to book hotels, airline tickets and vacation packages to Pacific Asia destinations -- A permanent Pacific Asia "aisle" on the Travelocity Web site, www.travelocity.com , the most popular travel site on the Web, featuring Pacific Asia destinations, flights, hotels and vacation packages -- Additional reciprocal cross-marketing promotions, such as a sweepstakes featuring trips to Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore
"We could not be more pleased to be working with the Pacific Asia Travel Association, an organization that has for more than 50 years played such a critical role in representing the travel and tourism industries of the world's premier destinations," said Sam Gilliland, president and CEO of Travelocity.
